The 27-year-old Country singer, Morgan Wallen took to his Instagram account to post a 5-minute long video, apologizing for using the N-word that he said during a video recording that he sent wishing farewell to his friends two days ago. In the video, he said: “Take care of this (expletive) N-word” referring to another person. Since then, he has been facing several consequences for his action as he was suspended by his own record label, being pulled out from Radio and dropped-off by several representatives and Institutions in the country music genre.
The Country Singer, who remained silent after his drunk video was leaked by TMZ last week and was shown to the whole world. He recorded a 5-minute long Apology video and gave his side of the story. In the video, he said: “I’m long overdue to make a statement regarding my last incident.” He said: “The video you saw was me on hour 72 of a bender, and that’s not something that I’m proud of either,” he added by saying: “Obviously, the natural thing to do is to apologize further and continue to apologize because you got caught, and that’s not what I wanted to do.”

He then said that he took these last few days to “seek some real guidance.” recollecting his thoughts and words and reflecting back on his past actions and learning from them. He said that he leaned that ‘a word can truly hurt people.’ He also said to his fans to not to defend him as he said: “Please don’t. I was wrong. It’s on me to take ownership of this and I fully accept any penalties I’m facing.”
Morgan Wallen also stressed on the fact that he let so many people down with his actions and asked for their forgiveness. He said: “I let so many people down…. I let my parents down, and they’re the furthest thing from the person in that video. And I let my son down, and I’m not OK with that. So this week, I’ve been waiting to say anything further until I got the chance to apologise to those closest to me that I knew I personally hurt.”
Reaching out to the Black leaders
He also reached out and had some “Very real and honest conversations” with many leaders and executives of Black Organizations as they offered him a chance to “learn and to grow” from his mistakes. He said: “this week, I heard some first-hand stories from Black people that honestly shook me.” He added by saying: “I came away from those Discussions with deep appreciation for them and a clearer understanding of the weight of my words. I wish the circumstances were different for me to learn these things, but I’m glad it started the process for me to do so.”
He has said that he will be planning to going for a publicity tour to address all their comments.
